How many people are completely against 1 heat and a feaure? i dont know about everyone else but i like them alot better especially on the hot days plus your tires dont get as worn nor does the motor and you get out of there alot earlier without being completely exhausted
most saturday night track only do 1 heat and feature and ive never rele heard anyone complain about it
i know theres a couple reasons to have 2 heats but i kinda like the reason to not a lil better lol
just looking for opinions on it nothing more..
maybe do a feature invert have whoever won the heat draw a pill at the scale house and whatever number they choose they invert.

In the Slingshot traveling series, the top six drivers in the heat finishing order invert for the feature. the top 6 in the feature are iverted by points. The top point guy starts 6th, 2nd highest point guy starts 5th and so on. The person that starts 7th was the 7th place qualifier, 8th would start 8th and so on. This makes for a really tight point season and also gives new or less experienced drivers a chance to start up front. Almost always the point leaders still win and the races are really exciting to watch. A very easy way to do this is just invert the entire field by points for their feature. Makes for a better point season and more participation. The non point chasers may steal a win or 2. keeps it fun...

sorry i got off subject..........As a spectator..1 or 2 heats doesnt matter to me...maybe have a cut off number, if the class has under 6 karts only run 1 heat, there really is no need to run 2 heats with only a few karts.....AS a racer...i like to get my money worth and drive as much as possible..thats my opinion..still means nothing

one heat and a feature would be the best, times are tough and anyway to save would be a good idea......

Do (2) practices, 5-lap qualify, and run a 20-lap (or 25-lap?) feature

Tara nice post! This all sounds good, really like the 2 rounds of practice, qualify and 25 lap feature. The only thing is 5 qualifying laps is for dirt on asphalt you get 3, makes those 3 laps worth practicing for? Got these really nice transponders why not use them for qualifying, qualifying adds a different dimension and driving mentality, other than the heats slam fest . If you do 1 heat and feature as it is now=30 laps, qualify and 25 lap feature=28 laps practice is your option as always. Anyway all of these ideas are good maybe the board could use some of them to mix it up a bit, just a thought.

I like it the way it is if someone doesnt want to run the heat races then they dont have to and can start in the back. I think that all the time on the track is all a part of racing not just the race.
