Thanks for your post.
The 2010 WKA tech manual (pg 54) breaks down Jr. Sportsman Champ into two divisions:
JSC1 for 8-10, Purple Plate, Animal, #285 or #300
JSC2 for 10-12, Blue Plate, Animal #310 or #325
The same classifications can be found under the pavement section of the WKA web site:

BRIGGS SPORTSMAN 1 CHAMP HEAVY 8 - 10 Animal w/ 0.235" top & 0.275" bottom (purple) 300 lbs. Vega MBS
BRIGGS SPORTSMAN 2 CHAMP LITE 10 - 12 Animal w/ 0.275" top & 0.325" bottom (blue) 310 lbs. Vega MBS
BRIGGS SPORTSMAN 2 CHAMP HEAVY 10 - 12 Animal w/ 0.275" top & 0.325" bottom (blue)
I understand the FDDS is running Jr Sportsman Champ as one class of 8-12 at #315 with a clone and flat head mix calling it Sportsman Champ Blue.
We are using the 2010 WKA tech manual. Pending the race director's approval, we will run the same configuration as the FDDS in our Jr. Sportsman Champ classification using our clone configuration (see SFKA MC BOX Stock tab on the forum) and a blue plate on both motors:
8-12, Blue Plate, #315, Clone (w/shoe clutch) or flathead (w/disc clutch) per WKA FDDS classification.
We will spit the class according to WKA guidelines if we get enough karts in the classification.
I will make the age change. Thanks for your post.
